I have some bittersweet news for all of my loyal Emancipation Of Mandy readers – I’ll be leaving for two months to Connecticut to film a movie, which means that I’ll temporarily halt posts until my return early next year. I am so excited for this opportunity (my first film after all!) and I can’t wait to get back and post all of the pictures and details of shooting. And to my mother’s dismay, I’ll be visiting NYC for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years!

If you didn’t know already, I’ve been working at Most Films for the past 2 months working with script development, casting meetings, covering tons of new scripts, and meeting huge, huge, huge producers, directors, actors, agents, and managers to start developing and financing all of our films that we’ll produce for next year (and the one we’re currently in pre-production on), among all of the additional day-to-day responsibilities of my role. Major stuff.

So thank you for being there for me over the past almost two years of EOM and I look forward to coming back and providing great content for you. Keep up with my travels and Like me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter!

Unlike Arizona this time of year, Los Angeles is perfectly in tune with the seasons and it’s been cold, wet and rainy for the last couple days. Yesterday it rained half the day and I couldn’t have been happier to bust out my pink ruffled mini umbrella, Missoni for Target scarf and boots for the glorious occasion.

Kayaking in Malibu

Will came in town last weekend to visit and I was so excited to show him all of my LA hangs and also explore to find new gems. On Saturday we went up to Malibu with the intention to surf, but the waves weren’t that impressive so we rented a tandem kayak and chilled out in the open ocean for hours…with a couple cold ones in hand of course.

The streets of Los Angeles are chock-full of graffiti and art – sometimes it’s huge and right off the street (which is the case for the boy with the camera on Santa Monica and La Brea) and sometimes all you have to do is look up or down (which is the case for the ruby red slippers on the phone poles and the metal ants stuck in the cement).

Since my unfortunate exit (our show got cancelled, read here) from TV Guide’s Hollywood 411 a month ago, I was lucky enough to be called back in to work Kathy Griffin’s Emmy’s Special with the gang (at least who was left after all of the cuts), and it was one of the most exciting weekends I’ve worked since I moved to LA. Let me just preface by saying that I die for Kathy Griffin. Every time her comedy tour would stop in Phoenix, Mindy and I would be the first ones getting a group together and making a fabulous night out of it. Of all of the celebs I worked with on Hollywood 411, Kathy was by far the nicest and funniest. Unfortunately, I can’t find the full episode, but here’s a clip and pictures I took on set.

Gratuitous Outfit Post – Birthday Edition

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, I posted a sneak peak Gratuitous Outfit Post of my birthday outfit. I had to go in to work and had meetings, so I needed something that was a bit dressier, and it was my birthday so no schlubbing around in just any boring jeans and t-shirt options. I ended up having a great birthday complete with pizza for lunch (always a fav) and getting surprised by friends at Bar Marmont and Dominick’s.

Today is my 28th birthday and I am less than thrilled about getting older. After all, I’m almost 30 at this point. Grody. Anywho, just thought I’d relive memories of my last birthday since I won’t be able to celebrate with my family and get enjoy Oregano’s pizza and homemade marshmallow fondant cake, which has been my birthday tradition for years. Whale Watching in Dana Point

It’s blue whale migration season in southern California and my roommate and I have been dying to travel to Dana Point and take a boat tour to hopefully be lucky enough to see these massive and elusive beauties with our own eyes. Thankfully we got just what we were expecting and more with sights of seals, tons of dolphins and a blue whale. Blue whales are in area from August through October and tickets are only about $35. Definitely a trip worth experiencing!
